Macungie woman, 50, killed in Route 100 crash in Lower Macungie

Fire police shut down a mile of Route 100 between Macungie and Breinigsville for the investigation. Troopers took measurements and snapped photos at the scene. The highway was reopened at 11:40 p.m.

Macungie Woman Killed After Collision with Tractor-Trailer

Authorities closed one mile of Route 100 between Macungie and Breinigsville during their investigation. The roadway reopened at 11:40 p.m.
A car and a semi collided at Route 100 and Schoeneck Road in Lower Macungie Township Wedesday night, killing Sally Romano, 53, of Macungie. The accident was reported during a light snowfall at 7:30 p.m. The truck driver called in the accident and told Lehigh County 911 operators that the woman driving the car was trapped. The woman was pronounced dead at 8:25 p.m. The semi-trailer was headed south on Route 100 when the eastbound car crossed the highway from Schoeneck Road and the two vehicles crashed into each other. The car had a stop sign. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
