Turnpike officials say all lanes westbound were shut down because of the accident between the Morgantown and Reading exits in Berks County.
There was no immediate word on injuries in the crash.
Also, an accident has shut down Interstate 78 eastbound in Berks County between mileposts 35 and 40 in Lenhartsville.
