OWNER OF STRIKING VEHICLE IDENTIFIED IN JUNIATA PARK HIT-AND-RUN; FAMILY DOG MISSING
Investigators say 38-year-old Alberto Vangas of North 9th Street owns the damaged 2008 Mitsubishi SUV police found after the crash. Police say it remains clear who was driving the vehicle at the time and they want to speak to Vangas. The reunion came as Philadelphia police continue to search for the driver of a 2008 Mitsubishi SUV that fled the scene after crashing into a Mazda sedan, killing Osvaldo Arroyo's brother Francis.

A fatal hit-and-run crash in Juniata Park killed one person and hospitalized another. Police are searching for an SUV that fled after crashing into a blue Mazda vehicle. The driver of the Mazda died, while a passenger was injured. The crash happened at the intersection of East Luzerne and I Streets in Juniata Park around 10:37 p.m. The driver of the Mazda was trapped inside before being rescued, but later died at Temple Hospital. The passenger was also transported to the hospital; that person's condition is unknown. The vehicle that struck the Mazda was located along Rising Sun Avenue at 9th Street. A witness called 911 to report the accident immediately and also was able to follow the striking vehicle in another vehicle and give police updates as to where it was going and where it eventually ended up.
