1 Dead, 13 Hurt After Car Crashes Into SEPTA Trolley Bus

At least one person was killed and several injured after a car and a SEPTA trolley bus collided in Philadelphia Monday night. The SEPTA trolley bus and car were traveling on Arrott Street when the bus slowed down and stopped at a stop sign at Penn Street, police said. A car traveling behind it then struck the trolley in the back, according to investigators. Both the driver and passenger of the car were taken to the hospital.

A sport utility vehicle has crashed into a trolley bus in Philadelphia, killing the SUV driver and injuring all 19 people on the bus. A passenger in the SUV has been critically injured.

Jamarr Sturgis, 34, of Philadelphia was driving a 2006 Red Dodge Magnum at a high speed down Arrott Street at 7:13 p.m. Monday, police said. At the same time a 2007 SEPTA New Flyer Trolley Bus was in front of it and had stopped at a stop sign, according to investigators.
