Car accident, fire on ramp to Schuylkill Expressway

Philadelphia police and fire crews are on the scene of a car accident and fire on the Schuylkill Expressway.The accident occurred around 5:55 p.m. Wednesday on the ramp to I-76 eastbound near Montgomery Drive.Initial reports indicate two people were trapped in the vehicle at one time.The car caught on fire.Chopper 6 over the scene shows firefighters working to put out the blaze.At least one person was transported in an ambulance.

Stolen Car Crashes, Catches Fire Near I-76 in Philadelphia

A stolen car crashed and burst into flames in Philadelphia Wednesday evening. SkyForce10 was over the scene about 6 p.m. as the car burned in the area of I-76 and Montgomery Avenue. Police said the burning car was stolen, but did not immediately have additional details on what led to the crash. Police remained at the scene investigating the crash after 6 p.m., and firefighters were working to put out the car fire. The crash, which appeared to involved two cars just off I-76, snarled traffic in the area as crews worked to battle the car fire just after 6 p.m.
