Brief police pursuit of stolen car ends in fatal crash on North Side

A man died Friday night after crashing a stolen car into a North Side church during a brief police chase, authorities said.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said Saturday autopsy results are pending on a city man who died Friday after the car he was driving smashed into an Observatory Hill church at the end of a brief police chase.
According to Police, Davis stole a car belonging to a woman near the intersection of East Ohio and Middle Streets when she left the vehicle to use an ATM. Officers spotted the vehicle near Henderson Street and gave chase. Davis lost control of the car and crossed over a sidewalk, crashing into the steps of the Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church and caught fire. The man was transported to a local hospital where he died.
