At least five sent to hospital after two-vehicle crash, foot chase Downtown

The officer, angered, told him: "Not only did you hit a car with two kids in it, you had a kid in your car, too. What were you thinking? Why would you run with a kid in the car just because you were afraid of getting arrested?"

"I was walking around the corner down here, just trying to go get a parking permit, and all of a sudden this guy just ran around the corner. I heard all of these sirens, and he looked at me and turned the other way,” said a witness. “Next thing I knew, I saw three or four cop cars come in. They jumped out of their cars, pulled their guns out and yelled, 'Get on the ground. Get on the ground.’”

1 In Custody After Downtown Chase, Crash

“Five adults, between the two cars, have been taken to the hospital,” Pittsburgh Police spokesperson Sonya Toler said. “There was a male who fled on foot… and we’re not quite clear how he got his injuries just yet, but he received some pretty serious injuries and he was taken as well to the hospital.”

An unnamed fugitive led police on a chase through downtown Pittsburgh, where he crased in to a Chevrolet Impala. It is unclear at this time how many people were involved, but it is known that there were two children, one in each car, who suffered minor injuries. The fugitive was most severely injured, though it is not known if his injuries were sustained before or during the crash. This incident is still under investigation.
