Man killed, two others hurt in head-on collision with log truck in Berkeley County

The 2006 Mack truck hauling logs was headed westward on Old State Road when it collided with the eastbound minivan, Senior Trooper Hannah Wimberly of the Highway Patrol said. 
Lawrence Phillips, 70, has died following a head-on collision with a logging truck in Jedburg, South Carolina Monday. 39-year-old Terri Davis, of Eutawville, and 70-year-old Ruby Williams, of Saluda, who were in the same minivan as Phillips, were taken to Medical University Hospital. 26-year-old truck driver Tyren Washington, of Andrews, was not injured. The accident occured around 11:15 a.m. on Old State Road in Jedburg, South Carolina, near Wassamassaw Swamp Bridge. Phillips, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.
