Victim identified in deadly accident on Johns Island

An investigation is underway following a deadly accident on Johns Island. 

Coroner identifies Johns Island man killed in tractor accident

Thomas Bussey of Johns Island died from injuries sustained in the fall, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Kimberly Rhoton said.

Deputies were told that Bussey was operating a Massey-Ferguson 1030 tractor on his property, Watson said.
Sometime between 5:00-6:00 p.m., Bussey was operating a tractor on his property when one of its tires went flat. He drove the machine to his garage so that he could fix it, but for some reason fell off of the tractor as he reached the garage, and was run over by its back left tire. Bussey was pronounced dead after succumbing to the injuries sustained in the accident.
