Driver charged with felony DUI following deadly Georgetown crash

According to Sergeant Bob Beres, with SCHP, the two vehicle collision accident happened around 9:46 P.M.just three miles north of Georgetown on Secondary 51.

One dead, one charged after fatal Georgetown DUI car crash

There were three occupants of the Mercury, and one was airlifted to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center due to injuries suffered in the crash. Two other passengers of the Mercury were taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center by ambulance, Beres said.  
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Treyshawn Elder, 22, of Georgetown Elder was driving a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis on Secondary 51 3 miles north of Georgetown when a Ford F-150 crossed the center line and collided with the Mercury head-on. Elder, who was wearing his seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three passengers in his vehicle were taken to Grand Strand Medical Center in unknown condition. The driver of the F-150, 20-year-old Frederick Travis, has been charged with felony DUI. He and a passenger in the pickup were uninjured in the crash. We'll update this story as new details emerge.
