A 7-year-old boy was fatally struck by an SUV on Friday morning after he ran into the road at a school bus stop south of Moncks Corner, authorities said.

Neighbors say they complained about traffic before child killed at bus stop

Linda Henderson said she had complained to the Department of Transportation about the traffic on the road before. "A bus stop should not be in a blind curve," she said. "They should also cut back the trees."

On Friday morning, a 7-year-old boy was struck and killed by a vehicle crossing Domingo Drive in Moncks Corner on his way to his bus stop. In the hours since, his family and friends now wonder what could have been done to prevent this tragedy.

Craig M. Little Jr. was fatally struck by an SUV on Friday morning after he ran into the road at a school bus stop. Little was taken by helicopter to Medical University Hospital where he later died. What prompted the boy to run into the road and other aspects of the crash are still under investigation. The SUV's driver, a 70-year-old man, was wearing a seat belt and was not hurt. No charges have been filed.
