So far in 2015, there have been 20 collisions on that road with one fatality, the one that happened yesterday.

Teen killed in Summerville car crash

She was pronounced dead on the scene. The coroner has ruled the cause of death as blunt force trauma.
Burnell was driving a northbound car on Delmar Highway in which she was the only occupant, when she began to veer into the oncoming lane. This caused her to overcorrect and depart the roadway to the right, where her car rolled over and she was ejected, as she was not wearing a seat belt. Burnell was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and the coroner confirmed that she was pregnant. It is currently uncertain whether or not excessive speed played a role in the accident; check back for updates.
