Clarendon Co. investigator, father of five dies in auto accident
According to Garrett, Smith was returning to Clarendon County after meeting with SLED regarding an auto theft case.

A 19-year law enforcement official and father of five died Wednesday afternoon in a car crash. Sheriff Randy Garrett says Investigator Holmes Smith died in the collision at around 3 p.m. on Highway 521. Authorities could not provide further details regarding the accident.
