Several people injured when car collides with logging truck

Several people were injured, including two kids, when a car collided with a logging truck in Batesburg-Leesville Thursday morning. Batesburg-Leesville Police say the car was headed north on N. Lee Street when it drifted left near E. Church Street and hit a logging truck. The woman in a vehicle behind the logging truck noticed an 8-year-old girl who was in the front passenger seat of the vehicle in distress. The driver of the logging truck also was taken to the hospital. The woman pulled the girl from the car and started administering CPR. The driver and two kids in the car were taken to the hospital.

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) - An 8-year-old girl has died after the vehicle she was riding in collided with a logging truck in Lexington County. Coroner Margaret Fisher says Kalieah Richardson of Batesburg was pronounced dead Friday evening at the hospital where she was taken after Thursday's crash. The girl was sitting in the front seat when the crash occurred on North Lee Street in Batesburg-Leesville. Batesburg-Leesville police and the Highway Patrol are still investigating the accident.
