2 Dead, Woman Charged with DUI After I-20 Crash

Troopers responded to the accident just after 1:30 Thursday morning. I-20 westbound near Farrow Road and Wilson Boulevard were blocked for hours.

A 1-year-old infant managed to survive a fatal accident on Interstate 20 that killed two others and ended with one woman charged with felony DUI, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Victims identified, bond denied for woman charged in fatal DUI crash

Bond has been denied for the 21-year-old woman charged with DUI in the fatal crash that claimed the life of two parents.

Clarise Payno, appeared in court Thursday afternoon where she was denied bond for the two counts of felony DUI involving death.

Considered to be a "danger to the community" Payano was also charged with simple possession of marijuana and not having a license.

At the hearing for Clarise A. Payano, state prosecutors called her a "danger to the community" after the crash. Payano was visibly emotional, wiping away tears as prosecutors and investigators detailed the accident.

"I just want everyone to know that she's not a bad person. Yes, she did make a mistake. Many of us have made mistakes."

Jones went on to say "We're thankful that the baby is okay. You know and we're still dealing with the loss of Latoya and her husband, and you know we just got to take it step by step. Just pray and keep having faith."
