A man was killed early Saturday morning in Gaston, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Coroner Earl Wells says 24-year-old Danielle A. Reed died from injuries sustained in an accident that happened around 2:15 a.m. on Mack Street in Gaston.

A driver was heading north on Mack St. in Gaston around 2 A.M. when the vehicle passed through the stop arms on the train tracks and collided with an oncoming train. The driver was killed at the scene and was not wearing his seatbelt. The driver's name has not been released. Nobody on the train was injured as a result of the collision.
