One child killed, and several people injured in head-on collision on Capital Way in Springfield, South Carolina

Overnight accident in Orangeburg County leaves one dead, seven in hospital

Seven people are in the hospital and one child is dead after an overnight accident in Orangeburg County. Tiffany Brown, driver of the Nissan, was taken to The Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg & Calhoun Counties. There were four passengers in the Kia, all of which were taken to Palmetto Richland as well. The Kia was driven by Princess Tooks, 30, who was taken to Palmetto Richland. Officials with the Highway Patrol say at approximately 3:15 a.m. a Nissan sedan driven was traveling north on Capital Way when it drifted over the center line of the highway and struck a Kia sedan head on.

Head-on collision in Orangeburg County kills a child and sends 7 to hospital

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating an overnight crash that killed a child in Orangeburg County. One child was taken to the hospital while the other child died at the scene, according to Highway Patrol. Highway Patrol says there were five people in the Kia, including the driver, and all were transported to the hospital from the crash. The conditions of the driver and the child that survived are unknown. According to SCHP, the crash happened around 3:15 a.m. on SC 3 about a mile south of Springfield.
