Driver killed, passenger injured in Anderson Co. crash

Troopers said the driver of a 1989 Chevrolet Corvette ran off the right side of the roadway before striking a fence and a tree. A 25-year-old passenger was also not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was entrapped in the vehicle. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on Moores Mill Road at Old River Road around 9:40 p.m. He was mechanically extricated from the crash, but was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was entrapped in the vehicle. He was extricated from the crash, but pronounced dead at the scene. Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore identified the driver as Travis Denard, 31, of Piedmont.
