Tow truck driver William Armstrong Jr., 67, killed in crash off of I-85 in Anderson County, South Carolina

Another two truck works to remove the wrecked truck from the woods off I-85 (FOX Carolina/ Jan. 29, 2016) A tow truck driver died after the vehicle ran off the road along I-85 North early Friday morning, according to troopers with the SC Highway Patrol. Troopers said the driver of a 1998 rollback wrecker was driving north when the vehicle ran off the road, down an embankment, across a parking lot, and hit a tree. Armstrong died at the scene, Shore said. FOX Carolina's crew at the scene said the wrecked tow truck was from Tony's Tire & Brake, a Greenville-based auto repair company. Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore identified the victim as 67-year-old William Armstrong Jr. of Piedmont.
