Two 19-year-olds were killed in a crash Monday afternoon, according to the Cherokee County coroner.

Fowler said the driver, Lynsey Marie Davis, of Gaffney, and backseat passenger, Zekeius Nijae Sullivan, of Greenville, were killed in the wreck. Davis' sister, Kristen Leeanna Davis, 22, was a front seat passenger. She was treated and released from Novant Health Gaffney Medical Center, Fowler said.

Fowler said, “Miss Davis was driver of a 1995 Toyota Corolla that was heading north on Darwin Road at 1:45 p.m. It appears she entered a curve at a high rate of speed, lost control and ran off the left side of the roadway striking a tree. Both Miss Davis and Mr. Sullivan, who was a rear seat passenger in the vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Fowler said the Davis sisters were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision and it appears Sullivan was not wearing a seat belt.

They were on the way to Sullivan’s home in Greenville when they crashed, Fowler said.

Autopsies will be performed on Tuesday, Fowler said.
