Taylor was believed to be a transient whose last known address was on Cedar Lane Road, said Deputy Coroner Kent Dill.

At about 12:26am, Taylor was either walking on or attempting to cross I-385 when an eastbound pickup truck fatally struck him. He sustained several blunt-force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
