Spartanburg County deputies have arrested a man they said ran away after crashing at the end of a chase in a stolen vehicle. Timothy Robert Harrison is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving, missing or improper displayed tag and a blue light violation, according to the Spartanburg County Detention Center website. Master Deputy Kevin Bobo said the chase began Wednesday night after a deputy ran a tag on a vehicle in a driveway on Burnetts Road in Chesnee. Bobo said the driver, later identified as Harrison, took off as dispatchers told the deputy the tag did not match the vehicle. Harrison drove 5 miles on roads between Chesnee and Boiling Springs, reaching speeds of 70 mph during the chase, according to Bobo. Bobo said Harrison crashed in the 2000 block of Rainbow Lake Road and got out and ran away. Harrison was booked in the Spartanburg County Detention Center Thursday morning after calling authorities to turn himself in.
