The South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 25-year-old woman from Greer died after the car she was in overturned on Interstate 26 Saturday around 10:15 p.m.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 25-year-old woman from Greer died after the car she was in overturned on Interstate 26 Saturday around 10:15 p.m. Troopers said a 2000 Oldsmobile was heading east near mile marker 6 when the driver tried to avoid a deer, ran off the right side of the road and the car overturned. The driver and several passengers were injured and taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where one passenger was pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. SCHP said the woman was thrown from the car. The Spartanburg County coroner said the victim was not wearing a seat belt. The coroner has not yet released the woman's name, and SCHP is investigating the wreck pending toxicology findings.
