UPDATE: One person dead, one man injured in Highway 701 collision

One person is dead and another injured after a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 701 around 3:05 p.m. Edward Leitch, age 43, of Conway, was driving a 2014 freight line tractor-trailer and sustained minor injuries in the collision. Horry County Fire Rescue crews were on scene working the accident in Bucksport Friday afternoon, according to Lt. The driver of the Acura crossed over into the northbound lane and was struck head on by the tractor-trailer.

UPDATE: Georgetown man dead after Highway 701 collision

One person is dead and another injured after a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 701 around 3:05 p.m. Jones says the tractor trailer was traveling north on Hwy. 701 and the Acura was traveling south on Hwy. 701. Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden reports 23-year-old Shadone Knowlin of Georgetown died of injuries sustained in the collision. Edward Leitch, age 43, of Conway, was driving a 2014 freight line tractor-trailer and sustained minor injuries in the collision.

Shadone was a dear friend of mine we lived multiple school terms together and a full cosmetology class I learn the art of hair cutting on his scalp and he on mine I love this guy here now and forever
