SCDOT worker struck and killed by dump truck in Darlington Co.
At about 11:30 a.m., 51-year-old Henry Norris, an SCDOT worker, was walking on Mayberry Road behind a dump truck driven by 59-year-old Wayne Rhodes, according Cpl. Sonny Collins with SCHP. Rhodes was backing the truck up onto the roadway, and struck and killed Norris. Darlington County Fire Chief Kenny Stratton said Norris was also a Volunteer Fire Lieutenant at Station 15 Lake Swamp in Darlington County. "He was very dedicated to the department. Our prayers are with the family," Chief Stratton expressed. Norris leaves behind a wife and children.
