SCDOT: Accident blocks Hwy. 501 near Carolina Forest

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – An accident on Highway 501 southbound near Carolina Forest Boulevard is backing up traffic Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred at about 2:53 p.m. Tuesday, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The left southbound lane of U.S. 501 is closed, according to SCDOT. An SCDOT traffic camera in the area appears to show an overturned vehicle, and a significant traffic back-up in the southbound lanes. WMBF News has a crew en route – stay tuned for more details.
