Conway store catches fire after car crashes into it | The Sun News

More than a dozen firefighters battled a blaze ignited by a car crashing into a Conway convenience store Wednesday, the store's owner said. Larry Sanders, who has owned the store for 25 years, said he got a call about the fire Wednesday afternoon. At 2:45 p.m., officials had blocked off traffic on U.S. 501 Business between Sanders' store and S.C. 544. The store is across from Oliver's Restaurant. This is the second time Sanders has suffered a loss this week. Earlier this week, the bottom level of his Waccamaw Drive home flooded. "When it rains, it pours," the 66-year-old said.
