A 25-year-old man was killed when his car left the road and flipped early Wednesday morning, police said.
A 25-year-old man was killed when his car left the road and flipped early Wednesday morning, police said. The incident happened just after 3 a.m. near 75 S. Mendenhall in East Memphis. According to police, Joseph Gibson was heading south on Mendenhall in a 2008 Chevy Silverado when it hit a curb with the front tire on the passenger’s side. The car went airborne and landed in the driveway of a home at 63 S. Mendenhall, traveled on its side across the yard and struck a tree. The car kept sliding, smashing into an iron fence at 75 S. Mendenhall. The vehicle then flipped onto its roof and came to a stop. Gibson was ejected out of the passenger door and pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
