Fatal Crash Involves Tractor Trailer, TDOT Truck

The wreck happened in the westbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 155 in Hickman County. It was reported around 9:45 a.m. Thursday.

A Tennessee Department of Transportation worker is dead following a crash involving an overturned semi in Hickman County, authorities said.

"They were in the process of unloading equipment off the trailer so a tire could be changed," Miller said. "At the same time a semi veered off the road and hit the truck and knocked it into the worker. As the truck continued forward it flipped over and struck another TDOT truck."

The report states that the semi-truck driven by Castillo failed to move over and the vehicle first struck the TDOT vehicle in the emergency lane, then struck Younger and another truck driven by Santana Smith, 22, of Cumberland Furnace.
