Pursuit ends in deadly crash in Murfreesboro

At least three vehicles were involved in the accident, including a 27-year-old woman who was killed.

She had an infant in the car with her, but the child was saved thanks to a car seat.

Simmons had stolen the vehicle in Coffee County and sparked a high-speed police pursuit that ended south of Interstate 24 when his vehicle slammed into Campos's car around 4 p.m. Friday, according to Sgt. Travis Plotzer. The victim's car went south after being struck before landing off the highway, the report stated.

"This should have never happened. This right here should have never happened," said Mildred Parker, Campos' mother.

The Campos family is angry that the high-speed chase continued into Rutherford County over what they say was just a stolen car.
