Pedestrian dies after being hit by train on Nashville bridge

NASHVILLE '€” A man who was struck by a train while walking on a railroad bridge Sunday in Nashville has died, authorities said. According to multiple media reports, the incident happened at about noon. Officials said the man, who has not been identified, was hit by a CSX train and fell into the Cumberland River. He was rescued by crews from the Nashville Fire Department and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Authorities and CSX officials were continuing to investigate.
