Daniel Rodriguez Kostyk, 21, dies in hit-and-run when struck by tractor trailer while sitting on I-65 in Nashville, Tennessee

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said before the incident Kostyk hit the center concrete barrier with his 2007 Hyundai Elantra south on I-65 at the 1-40 overpass.

According to witnesses, he got out of his vehicle, which came to rest in the first lane of I-65, and walked to where the I-40 west overpass connects with I-65 South and sat down on the interstate.
