Ventrell Blakemore, 25, driver Antonio Crawford, 41, killed when their car collides with a tractor-trailer on Highway 49 in Robertson County.

Two people have died after a crash Wednesday morning along Highway 49 in Springfield near Louis Draughon Road.

The crash was reported just after 5 a.m. when a 2003 Chevrolet Impala drifted into the path of an oncoming tractor trailer that was hauling concrete slabs, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The passenger in the car, 25-year-old Ventrell Blakemore, of Springfield, was deceased when crews arrived to the scene.

The driver, 41-year-old Antonio Crawford, of Madison, was flown to an area hospital, but he died later in the day.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was also taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK.
