Christopher Jones, 17, killed and six people injured in crash on Interstate 65 in White House, Tennessee on June 12.

A teenager was killed in a three-car crash on Interstate 65 South between Portland and White House in Robertson County on Thursday afternoon.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a Ford Taurus was headed north on I-65 at mile marker 110 when it suddenly crossed the grass median and slammed into another vehicle.

The driver of the Taurus, 18-year-old Ethan Jones, was injured, and his passenger, 17-year-old Christopher Jones, was killed. Both are from Westmoreland, TN.

The THP says the Taurus hit a Kia Sorento head-on, which caused the Kia to hit a Jeep Laredo.

The driver of the Kia, 54-year-old Edward Wahl, and his two passengers, Phillip Waclawik and John Haley, were both injured.

Barbara Garrett, 70, was driving the Jeep. The Goodlettsville woman said that she looked over at her husband, Bobby, and thought he was dead. Both of them survived and were treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The crash scene tied up traffic for hours, and a paramedic and firefighter suffered from heat exhaustion.

No citations have been issued at this time, but the THP says criminal charges are pending.
