A 40-year-old woman was charged with driving while intoxicated in a crash that killed two people Tuesday in Northwest Austin. She had previously been convicted on two other DUI charges.

It happened at around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy 183 and Balcones Woods Drive, about a mile north of the Braker Lane and Hwy 183 intersection.

Investigators say Melissa A. Marshall, 40 was traveling northbound on the Hwy 183 service road in a 2009 black Ford Escape when she struck a 1999 silver Honda Civic that was eastbound on Balcones Woods Drive.

The passenger of the Honda identified as 46-year-old Lynne M. Clopton was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver identified as 49-year-old James R. Clopton was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police say it has not been determined which driver ran the red light, but Marshall has been charged with DWI, a third degree felony because of two other previous DUI conviction -- one in 2006 in San Fernando, California and the other in 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to court documents. Other charges are pending, APD says.

A woman was killed in a Rankin County crash Sunday afternoon, according to Pearl Police.

The victim is 22-year-old Britney Morgan Stevens of Texas, according to the Rankin County Coroner.

Officials say the crash happened around 3:00 p.m. on Highway 49 Northbound near Interstate 20. They say it appears she was changing lanes when she spun out of control and crashed into an interstate sign. The coroner says Stevens died on impact.

Police tell us it was raining at the time of the crash. They're trying to determine if weather played a factor.

According to officials with the Pearl Police Department, an accident happened this morning at I-20 and Pearson Road.

According to Pearl police, two single cab trucks collided. One truck rear-ended the other coming down the I-20 West exit ramp.

The driver in the vehicle that rear-ended the truck was airlifted to UMC. His truck leaked oil and gas, and caught fire while he was inside. Firefighters had to cut him out of his truck. Crews were cleaning up the spilled chemicals. There is no word on his injuries.

Hinds County Deputy Jeremy Nelson was involved in two-vehicle accident with Ray Hopson of Pearl, MS at the intersection of Highway 49 and Dixie Road, south of Florence. Both men were transported by ambulance, Deputy Nelson is in stable condition, and Hopson had only moderate injuries. Bad weather was a possible contribution to the accident as it happened as the worst of the storm was moving through Rankin County.

Two teens, killed in a Pearl accident Friday evening, have been identified. Two vehicles were involved in the accident on Highway 469 south of Highway 468. A Dodge Ram pickup collided with a gold Infiniti. Kimberly Copelan, 18, of Clinton was the driver and passenger, Joshua Page, 19, of Florence were in the Infiniti, that was completely destroyed from the impact. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to a hospital by Air Care with life threatening injuries." The Dodge Ram pickup was traveling northbound," said Trooper Henry.

A 51-year-old Marcy woman died Tuesday when her motorcycle collided with two other vehicles in New Hartford, New York. Lisa A. Lloyd-Amuso was killed while she was driving on Middle Settlement Road at the intersection of state Route 5 around 4:18 p.m. She collided with a vehicle heading west on state Route 5. The collision sent Lloyd-Amuso into a second vehicle stopped at the intersection. The driver of the westbound vehicle, 20-year-old Nathan C. Dugan, of Sherrill, suffered a minor hand injury. The driver of the second vehicle, 25-year-old Samantha A.

Rankin County Deputy Coroner Cliff Dunlap confirms that Olivia Rae Watkins was killed Tuesday (3-4-14) afternoon in Florence, Mississippi.

Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey says that the 17 year old lost control of her car and hit a tree. The cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma. It was a single car accident. Watkins was driving a four door sedan.

It happened around 5:00 p.m. Watkins was a senior at McLaurin High School. Robin Haney, Director of Public Relations for the Rankin County School District issued a statement this (3-5-14) morning.
