Corpus Christi man identified as driver hit by train near Bartlett

The pickup truck driver who died Tuesday after being struck by a train near Bartlett has been identified as Donald Patrick Turner, 54, of Corpus Christi, according to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
At about 12:52pm a Chevy Silverado and an Amtrak passenger train collided, killing the driver of the truck and starting a small fire in the grass, but not injuring anyone else. It is still unclear whether the truck was stopped on the train tracks or if it was attempting to cross as the train was coming.
