He said the accident happened at 8 a.m., about 2 miles from Schulenburg, where the couple were traveling north on U.S. Highway 77 in a 2014 Nissan Frontier.
A 2015 Lexus traveling south hydroplaned and slid into the northbound lane, striking the Nissan head-on.
