DPS tells reporter Haley Bull six persons injured in Tyler County accident south of Colmesneil today have all died.
It was about 3:15 p.m. when 30-year-old Brandon Simmons was driving a pickup truck to the north on U.S. 69 when he for some reason crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with an SUV driven by Doris Rogers, 62. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene, and the two who were hospitalized both succumbed to their injuries, leaving no survivors in this tragic accident. The other victims have been identified as Michael Simmons, 32, who was a passenger in the pickup truck, and Sharon Morgan, 68, Jewel McGowan, 95, and Timberlee Gossett, 22, who were all riding in the SUV. Police have said that the investigation has been "very complex" and are still trying to determine the exact cause of the crash.
