Police Looking For Hit And Run Driver

The driver of the hit and run vehicle left the scene going west on the access road toward Rodd Field Road. The hit and run vehicle had major damge to the front end and the air bags had deployed. Corpus Christi Police Traffic Investigators are searching for a hit and run vehicle that fled the scene of a crash in the 7500 block of South Padre Island Drive just after 9 PM Saturday night. A witness told Officers the vehicle that struck the female was a white, possibly a Hyundai, SUV driven by a person with dark skin tones.

Investigators Release Image of Vehicle Believed Involved in Saturday's Fatal Hit & Run

Investigators have the cooperation of nearby businesses to gain access to video surveillance in the area of the hit & run crash. Corpus Christi Police Crash Investigators have released video they obtained today which show a vehicle Investigators believe was involved in the Hit & Run crash Saturday night on the 7500 block of South Padre Island Drive which left a 21-year-old woman dead. Investigators ask the public for help to speed up the process to locate this vehicle and identify the driver. Investigators are viewing more video to determine the path of the vehicle such as if the vehicle entered the freeway, remained on the access road, or turned at an intersection. Information provided to Crime Stoppers which results in an arrest may earn the caller a cash reward.

The female that was struck, was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS and died at 9:10 PM on Monday.
