7-month-old infant killed in stroller after auto accident

Arlington police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian accident involving a 7-month-old boy in a stroller at the intersection of South Cooper Street and California Lane in South Central Arlington Thursday.

Arlington police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian accident involving a 7-month-old boy in a stroller at the intersection of South Cooper Street and California Lane in South Central Arlington Thursday.

According to police reports, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a driver in a truck attempted to make a turn from northbound South Cooper onto California Lane and struck an oncoming white sedan.

The driver of the truck then lost control of his vehicle after the collision and struck a man who was standing at the crosswalk waiting to cross the street with his infant inside the stroller.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office identified the infant as David Bingenheimer. The boy's father and the drivers of the two vehicles involved in the accident suffered non life-threatening injuries, according to the police. They have also not been identified, pending completion of the investigation.
