One person was killed in an accident involving two motorcycles and a vehicle Sunday morning on the Dallas North Tollway, a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman said.
The crash occurred on the southbound Dallas North Tollway ramp to the President George Bush Turnpike in Far North Dallas when a Nissan Sentra was heading south on the ramp and the driver lost control, hit the retaining wall, and the car overturned. Two motorcycles, a Honda and Kawasaki, were also heading south and hit the Nissan. The driver of the Kawasaki motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the site. The female driver of the Nissan was transported to Medical Center of Plano with serious injuries, and the driver of the Honda was transported to Baylor Hospital in Plano, also with serious injuries.
Why every fatality from a crash is not legally a wrongful death
After someone dies in a motor-vehicle accident, grieving family members and friends are often left with many questions. What caused the accident? Could it have been avoided? What do they do now that their loved one is gone?
Sometimes a fatal collision happens through no one's fault. Crashes caused by weather and road conditions, or by wildlife in the roadway, are examples. But when a fatal crash is caused by negligence, then family members should pursue a wrongful death claim, to uphold the victim's rights and begin the financial recovery process.
