Fog blamed for Ellis County school bus crash

Three kids and the school bus driver had minor injuries and were taken to an Ennis hospital. The pickup driver was said to have serious injuries and was taken to a hospital in Dallas.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Alejandro Camacho, was transported to Ennis Regional Hospital where he died from his injuries.

All three students on the bus — headed to Ennis Junior High and Ennis High schools — were transported to Ennis Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, Colunga said.

“The bus driver tried to see if she could go, but cars would just zoom by,” said Gerardo describing the moments before the crash. “She asked if we could see anything, but we couldn't see anything. We didn't for a while so she said she was going to go."
