According to authorities, a driver was traveling westbound along the freeway when they plowed head-on into another vehicle. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle died in the crash. The second driver was injured and transported to a nearby hospital, but that individual was also later pronounced dead.

It happened around 4:40 a.m. Thursday on Highway 114 near Highway 26. Police said a driver was heading westbound in the eastbound lanes out of Irving and hit another vehicle head on.

A silver Toyota Rav 4 driven by a 26-year-old male from Grapevine drove west in the eastbound lanes of Texas 114, Eberling said in a press release.
The Toyota hit a Pontiac Sunfire driven by a 52-year-old male from Fort Worth, the release stated.

“Several attempts were made to gain the driver’s attention by use of emergency lights, siren and spotlight as the vehicle went into Grapevine,” police spokesman Curtis Kaloi said.
