Emergency medical personnel, firefighters and sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene near Bynum just before noon, said Hill County Sheriff Michael Cox.
Worker Crushed By Large Trailer At Local Facility Dies
Strike the Woodlands-based energy services company that operates the facility, issued a statement in which it said, “It is with great sadness that we can confirm that a Strike employee died today while conducting routine maintenance on a vehicle at our facility near Hillsboro, Texas.”
On Tuesday in Hill County near Hillsboro, a mechanic identified as Michael Fortner, 50, was repairing the brake system on a commercial truck and trailer when the safety devices failed, and the trailer backed over him. Hill County Sheriff's officials report that he was treated on the scene before being taken to Hill Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. There are no plans to investigate the incident.
