Irving officers were notified around 11:20 p.m. that a woman was driving the wrong-way – travelling south in the northbound lanes of the turnpike near State Highway 114. While one group of officers pursued her at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour in the southbound lanes, another officer approached the suspect in the northbound lanes and was struck by the woman’s SUV near Conflans Road in Irving.
