Driver dies as pickup plows into tree near Tomball.

A man died early Wednesday morning when his pickup veered from the road on a curve, plowed through a ditch and slammed into a tree in northwest Harris County.
A man died early Wednesday morning when his pickup veered from the road on a curve, plowed through a ditch and slammed into a tree in northwest Harris County. Sterling Nobles was killed in the single-vehicle wreck, which happened about 12:30 a.m. in the 20600 block of Hufsmith-Kohrville Road near Holderrieth, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said Nobles was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Hufsmith-Kohrville when he failed to drive in a single lane of traffic and crossed the northbound lane on the curve. Nobles died at the scene. Deputies are investigating the crash.
