One woman killed after her car crashes head-on into a garbage truck on the Southwest Freeway near Beasley in Fort Bend County.

A fatal wrong-way accident with a hazmat spill had the Southwest Freeway southbound shut down in Fort Bend County this morning.

Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office investigators said a woman was driving north in the southbound lanes and struck a dump truck head on. She died at the scene.

There is no word on any injuries to the dump truck driver.

The Beasley Fire Department called for the Richmond FD hazmat team to assist with a fluid spill. Either gasoline or transmission oil was leaking onto the roadway.

The roadway was blocked for about six hours while the crews cleared the scene.
