Three people were killed and a fourth injured in a major car crash on the campus of Sam Houston State University.

Three people were killed and a fourth injured in a major car crash on the campus of Sam Houston State University.

It happened around 5 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Bowers and South Avenue. No details about the cause of the crash have been released.

Two of the victims who died were identified as Blanca Espinal, 19, of Houston, and Eric Torres, 22, of San Juan.

The surviving victim was identified as 22-year-old Thomas Roling of The Woodlands.

The fourth victim has not yet been identified.

Officials have confirmed that the South Avenue and Bowers entrances have been closed and will remain so until further notice.
