Woman killed after losing control of car and crashing into pole.

A woman died in a traffic crash Friday morning when her car slammed into a pole in northwest Harris County.

The single-car crash happened about 2:20 a.m. in the 10500 block of Barker Cypress near Little Riata, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said the woman was driving a Nissan Maxima when she apparently lost control of the car, left the roadway and smashed into the pole. The woman, whose name has not been released, was alone in the car.

Deputies are investigating the crash.
