A 5-year-old boy died and three other children were injured after an ATV accident in Chambers County Thursday.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. in a pasture in the 13000 block of Hatcherville Road in the Mont Belvieu area.

SECOND CHILD DIES IN MONT BELVIEU-AREA ATV ACCIDENT

A five-year-old boy named Sam died at the scene, and his seven-year-old sister, Mercy, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. She was supposed to have surgery but she didn't make it.

At approximately 4:00 p.m., four girls and two boys, all between the ages of 5-16, were riding on a four-seat ATV when it crashed and overturned for reasons unknown. All occupants were ejected from the vehicle, and the ATV rolled on top of a 5-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl. The boy was pronounced dead, while the girl was flown to a hospital in critical condition. Two other children were also hospitalized with unknown injuries.
